Our Operations
Impact and Responsibility
Remasa’s forest management units cover more than 38,000 hectares across five municipalities in south-central Paraná and one in northern Santa Catarina.
Management Objectives

1. Production for Industry
Produce pine and eucalyptus logs, including small-diameter logs, for processing industries in the region where Remasa operates, contributing to regional development.
2. Sustainable Management
Plan the establishment and management of forest plantings under a sustainable management system to ensure long-term business continuity.

3. Silviculture
Develop and improve silvicultural practices to maximize forest yield and minimize potential environmental impacts, applying a precautionary approach to nature conservation.
4. Multiple Uses
Pursue multiple uses of forest resources to make the most of timber production and maintain Remasa’s economic viability.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitor and assess the environmental, social, technical and economic aspects of forest management, pursuing continuous improvement and long-term business sustainability.
Capacity to Produce 1.5 Million Seedlings Each Year
Our nursery can produce 1.5 million seedlings annually, meeting approximately 85% of the company’s planting needs.
Our silvicultural operations encompass the establishment and management of planted forests, with a focus on productivity and sustainability. Practices include selecting species suited to our region’s soil and climate conditions, minimum tillage and integrated pest and disease management.
Advanced Technology and Training
Machinery and equipment suited to our operating conditions, together with ongoing operator training, enable safe, high-performance production and excellent quality.
We use best practices to design our forest road network, ensuring a steady supply of products regardless of adverse weather conditions.
Conservation and Preservation in Harmony
Our planted forests form a mosaic with preserved native forest areas that protect water sources, wildlife and plant life, help regulate water cycles and capture carbon from the atmosphere.
Remasa owns a total of 38,387.3 hectares of land, including 18,125 hectares (47%) of planted forests and 18,856 hectares (49%) dedicated to preserving native forests.
The native forests conserved by Remasa lie within the Atlantic Forest biome and consist mainly of Araucaria forest (Mixed Ombrophilous Forest) or natural grassland areas.
Mindful of our role in preserving natural resources, Remasa develops and supports projects and studies to gather data on environmental preservation practices alongside economic activities.
Our research and projects indicate that planted forests provide feeding and nesting habitat and serve as corridors for many native species, including endangered species.
