Our Commitment
Positive Impact
Our awards recognize the history Remasa has built over the years through ethics, respect, responsibility and commitment, values that endure throughout our company.
Did You Know?
Approximately 50% of the area is dedicated to nature conservation, including Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs), Legal Reserves (RLs) and other areas of native vegetation.
Sustainable Forest Management
Remasa’s forest management is founded on the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic. We apply conservation practices in our operations to protect natural resources and biodiversity.
Operational planning is strategic and informed by future timber demand to support business sustainability. Remasa also maintains close relationships with neighboring communities, prioritizes local suppliers whenever possible and develops partnerships with schools and universities.
These initiatives align with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles, reinforcing our commitment to responsible, sustainable management and long-term value creation.
Carbon Balance
A carbon balance for energy-related activities can be an important tool for assessing and planning energy-related emissions.
Remasa’s forests act as important carbon sinks, removing an annual average of 35,000 metric tons of CO₂e from the atmosphere. These removals exceed emissions associated with the company’s operations, resulting in a net negative carbon balance and reinforcing Remasa’s commitment to sustainability and addressing climate change.
